Set up in early 2021 by a team of Afghan female journalists and social activists, Radio Begum is a women’s radio network broadcasting 24/7 from Kabul and Ghazni and already covering several provinces of the country including Kabul, Logar, Ghazni, Parwan, Baghlan and Bamyan.
Radio Begum is a militant project, conceived and developed by women for women. “Our editorial policy is clear, explains Hamida who initiated the project: empower and educate Afghan women; and defend their rights. Radio Begum’s programs are conceived and designed to fulfill this mission.”
UNESCO and Begum Organization for Women have come together to support women journalists with Safety Training and Capacity Building in Afghanistan.
The objective of this 24 days' training was to increase their technical capacity for report writing and to increase their digital security knowledge and understanding for their personal safety. 40 women journalists from TV, radio, newspaper and online digital media attended the training.

5. Hazards in journalism;
6. Physical safety;
9. Video editing;
10. Voice-editing.
